The allure of the Salone del Mobile di Milano: the big brands of 2023
The pavilions of Fiera Milano in Rho will be hosting a major international event and point of reference in the design and furnishing sector: the Salone del Mobile 2023.
The appointment, now in its 61st edition, returns as usual in April, with the dates of this year’s Salone del Mobile di Milano being 18-23 April 2023.
An event not to be missed, which confirms Milan’s central role as the international capital of design, boasting a long history of passion, creativity and innovation, qualities also dear to Pisa Orologeria.
Salone del Mobile: the most eagerly awaited springtime appointment in Milan
To explain the Salone del Mobile in Milan in a nutshell, you could say that it is a fair where international furniture, lighting and design brands present their latest collections, an opportunity to discover new brands and trends and enjoy the lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere. In actual fact it is so much more.
The Salone del Mobile is an event reserved for professionals in the sector, i.e. architects, buyers, designers, distributors, retailers, interior decorators, but at the weekend it also opens its doors to the general public.
Among this year’s most exciting new features is a revamped concept of the exhibition space, which will be developed on a single level in a loop designed to simplify and enhance the experience for exhibitors and visitors.
In addition, the 2023 edition celebrates the return, after four years, of the biennial Euroluce, dedicated to lighting. With a new layout designed by Lombardini22, it will also host a busy calendar of cultural events integrated into the visit route: talks, workshops, site-specific installations and art and architecture exhibitions, in “islands” designed specifically by the FormaFantasma team and created with a focus on sustainability.
The protagonists of the Salone del Mobile di Milano: the exhibitors
The Salone del Mobile is the most coveted stage for Italian and international companies from the world of furniture and lighting. This year there will be 1,962 exhibitors, including more than 550 young talents under the age of 35, along with 28 design schools.
In addition to the return of Euroluce, the presence of other events that have characterised the essence of this event for years is confirmed in the pavillions of Rho Fiera Milano. These include the Salone Satellite and the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition.
Among the big brands of 2023, the spotlight is mainly on new products in the lighting sector, thanks partly to the return of Euroluce: Artemide, for example, presents its new lighting products in a stand designed by Mario Cucinella, which promises visitors a real “light experience”.
Flos , with a set up curated by the Calvi Brambilla studio, will be staging pieces designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Konstantin Grcic, Gino Sarfatti, and Philippe Malouin, among others. Foscarini, on the other hand, will be presenting its new products in a colourful and essential booth designed by Ferruccio Laviani, in an immersive installation that is sure to fascinate.
Milano Design Week: a week of events all over the city
In addition to the pavilions of Rho Fiera, from 18 to 23 April, the whole city will be actively involved in the week of design and creativity. Thousands of tourists, industry professionals and design lovers fill the streets of Milan, participating in the myriad events and exhibitions set up in the city and gathered under the umbrella of the Fuorisalone.
This is Milan Design Week, the busiest week of the year: exceptional openings of showrooms and period buildings, meetings with designers, exhibitions, parties, events and installations transform the neighbourhoods of Milan’s neighborhoods into veritable design districts: from Brera to Cinque Vie, from Tortona to Via Durini, to Isola, Alcova, Porta Venezia and DropCity.
About 800 events have been confirmed to date for Milan Design Week: a constellation of unique opportunities to discover previously unknown corners and buildings within the city, or to experience them with different eyes, immersed in a whole new atmosphere.
Once again this year, the Salone del Mobile is confirmed as the international point of reference for the furnishing and design sector: an opportunity for discovery, a source of creative input and inspiration for both brands and visitors from all over the world, a place in which to make connections and forge professional relationships.
In the setting of Milan, a city of outstanding vitality and dynamism, with an ever-increasing appeal beyond national borders, Pisa Orologeria also wants to promote a universe projected towards the future, creativity and innovation, in which there are still so many novelties to be discovered and conveyed.

Pisa Orologeria takes part in Milano Design Week with three exclusive displays
Pisa Orologeria also contributes to the Milanese Design Week, strengthened by the bond that has united it to the city since its foundation.
To mark Design Week, the Triumphant Lion by French sculptor and visual artist Richard Orlinski will be on display in front of the entrance to the Hublot Boutique of Pisa Orologeria in via Verri 7. This sculpture fascinates with its hundreds of facets which come together to portray the king of animals with a thick mane, a symbol of wisdom and greatness.
On the exclusive terrace of the Rolex Boutique in via Montenapoleone 24, it will be possible to admire seven sculptural works by architect and ceramic artist Vincenzo del Monaco in a free exhibition. Five bronzes and two ceramics which, between figurative and geometric representations, celebrate the art of sculpture as a union of two ancient materials transformed by fire and time.

Lastly, the theme of the Salone del Mobile 2023 and the return of Euroluce is evoked by the LED installation The City of Lights that stands out in the windows of the Flagship Store in via Verri 7. The message in big letters “Get ready to… SHINE”, not only recalls the forthcoming opening of the store upon completion of renovation work, is intended as a warning, a positive message of personal empowerment.
