Panerai Submersible: the eco-friendly watch

Albeit slightly later than some sectors, the world of luxury watchmaking is embracing a more conscientious approach to its craft: the industry’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact is reflected in the search for materials and solutions that respond effectively to this need.

A good illustration of this is the Panerai Submersible eLAB-ID, composed of 98.6% recycled materials and representing a revolution in terms of the circular economy for watches. Indeed, the Submersible is the concept watch with the highest percentage of recycled materials worldwide.

The case, sandwich dial and bridges of the movement of the new Panerai Submersible eLAB-ID are realized in EcoTitanium, a recycled titanium alloy. Its case measures 44 mm in diameter and is water resistant to 300 metres. It features a brushed finish and patented Safety Lock crown protection, also in EcoTitanium, just like its screw back case.

Moreover, the Submersible eLAB-ID is the first Panerai watch to use 100% recycled SuperLuminova TM for its indexes and hands, as well as 100% recycled silicon for its movement escapement.

Beyond the concept watch, the Panerai Submersible is available in three different models: the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic in Titanium, the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic in Titanium and the Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech 3 Days Automatic. Each of these represents a unique model with exceptional features and a one-of-a-kind design distinguishing it from other models in the Panerai collection.
