From the movement of the sea to the motion of Haute Horlogerie

December 2016

The Marine collection, which was launched for the first time in 1996, celebrates the rich nautical tradition of Ulysse Nardin, the watchmaking Maison founded in 1846 by the homonymous young watchmaker in Le Locle, Switzerland.

Although the geographic distance, the sea has always been a powerful source of inspiration for Ulysse Nardin, especially when the request for marine and pocket chronometers increased and the watchmaker realised to be able to satisfy it with his own technical abilities. These precision instruments are the ancestors of the forthcoming Ulysse Nardin Marine collections, forever and always dedicated to the sea.

The exhibition at Pisa Orologeria, Milan from December 13th until 19th, is a tribute to this iconic collection, expression of technical performance and exquisite design. These values are enhanced today by the collaboration between the Manifacture and the Artemis Racing Team, a Swedish sailing crew participating to the 35th America’s Cup. This partnership with Artemis Racing Team inspires Ulysse Nardin in its incessant innovation process to produce mechanical timepieces, creating extraordinary watches such as the new Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing, a limited edition of 250 models which will be presented for the first time and exclusively at Pisa Orologeria in Milan.

Innovation, performance and engineering incorporate themselves and redefine the concept of mechanical watch, exceeding the limits of time itself.
