A classic Vacheron Constantin

Patrimony Contemporaine with bi-retrograde day and date calendar. Aesthetic simplicity and mechanical complexity.

Purity is a question of proportions, simplicity is a question of taste. Recognized as the ultimate expression of the modern classicism of watchmaking, the Patrimony Contemporaine line strongly affirms this refined style, the brand of Vacheron Constantin.
The newborn of the collection, the Patrimony Contemporaine bi-retrograde day and date, is the expression of the Geneva Manufacturer: a savoir-faire in watchmaking acquired from 250 years of uninterrupted activity. This product of Haute Horlogerie has the classic lines of the aesthetic sense, the concentrated genetics of Vacheron Constantin.

Apparent simplicity hides authentic mechanical complexity.

In the eyes of watchmaking fans, the complexity of a mechanical movement is greatly appreciated when it is shown in a sophisticated and meticulous manner on the face. The new watch Patrimony Contemporaine of Vacheron Constantin expresses this complexity to perfection.
With double works expressed by two retrograde indicators on the face, the new watch will make fans enthusiastic if they are able to appreciate the hidden complexity; in fact more than the display of hours and minutes, the master clockmakers of Vacheron Constantin added two of the most useful works, day and date, shown by two retrograde indicators.
Retrograde indicators are not only original, but also complex in their works: the expression of the technical at the service of the aesthetic.
The instantaneous return of the hands from one point to another, in less than 1/10 seconds covering an arc of approximately 180° is a great challenge for a mechanism of such dimensions. It is necessary to have a great amount of energy released instantaneously to take the hands behind in a fraction of a second and with absolute precision. This explains the use of a special alloy characterized by its elasticity and lightness to make a sphere indicating the day and the date.
Strength, instantaneousness and precision: three key elements, dominating the perfection of the master clock-makers of Vacheron Constantin, to make from the simple appearance the complexity of the two retrograde indicators.

Another movement with Poinçon de Genève, in the tradition of the manufacturer.

In the heart of this simple and refined watch is found the 2460R31R7gauge, an automatic mechanical movement conceived, developed and made by the Manufacturer Vacheron Constantin with the functions of hour, minutes, date and day.
This gauge with double works is one of the new automatic movements of 11 lines and ½ (25.6 mm), appearing in 2005, year of celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Manufacturer. The newborn gauge 2460R31R7 has a frequency of 28,800 alternations/hour, a power reserve of more than 40 hours and is distinguished by the meticulous work of bevelling on the bridges decorated by Côtes de Genève and on the platinum with perlage. An innovative spherical ceramic bearing system moves the 18 carat gold oscillating mass with guilloché finishing.
The 2460R31R7gauge with the brand of the Poinçon de Genève meets its twelve rigorous criteria.
This exclusive brand is recognized as a symbol of clock making perfection and as certification of origin. More than the technical and aesthetic limits agreed to, the brand is a symbol of a true philosophy of the art of watchmaking, without concessions either to quality or the individual components, for all the movements together. The Poinçon de Genève guarantees a longer life to the movement.

The strength of the design comes from the search for excellence by Vacheron Constantin.

The refined and elegant case in 18-carat rose gold, made in two parts, has a diameter of 42.5 mm and is impermeable up to 30 meters. It has a back plate in rose gold and convex sapphire glass through which the finishing of the movement can be admired.
The functions are clearly legible thanks to the generous proportions of the silver and opaline face and the accuracy of every detail gives general harmony. The face, complex in its construction, is curved on the external part and resumes the aesthetic codes of the Patrimony Contemporaine line: the staff hands, the four triangular galbé indices in 18 carat gold at 3, 6, 9 and 12, are light, like the pearly accessories in cabochons of gold.
